Skopelos island - Greece. Nikolakis Hatzistamatis, the founder of the Nikolaidis family was born in the island of Skiathos around 1770; he moved to Skopelos where he served as one of the islands highest officials. His son Jiannios changed his name to Nikolaidis and was also granted with high offices.
Descendants of the above are the present donators of the house which was offered to become the island's Folk art Museum
